Ground Breaking Ceremony for the Gateway Owego Project

The Nelson Development Group, LLC, proposes to construct a new three-story multi-family, mixed-use development building located at 200-204 Front Street in the Village of Owego, Tioga County, New York.

 

The project site was formerly part of a row of attached buildings located on Front Street. In the early hours of July 1, 2000 the original buildings located at 200-204 Front Street, were destroyed by a fire. The buildings were condemned, and the demolition began the next day due to serious safety concerns. The property has remained vacant, aside from the foundation and existing shared side walls from the original building that remains at the site, and a wooden deck that was constructed in 2012 to improve the aesthetics of the under-utilized site.
