Tioga Business 2010
The Tioga County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the date for “Tioga Business 2010” The event will be held on Thursday, October 14th, 2010 at the Owego Treadway Inn and Conference Center. “Tioga Business 2010” is one of the premier business shows in the Southern Tier of New York State. Both floors of the conference center will be filled with more than 100 of our top companies. This is an excellent opportunity for you to grow your business, meet new people and make new business contacts. Now more than ever you can bring attention to your business and unleash your company’s potential and connect into the Southern Tier marketplace and participate in the region’s premier business-to-business trade show. Meet hundreds of decision makers from throughout the region. If you are interested in securing a spot at the event, contact the Chamber for a registration form, you will want to reserve your exhibit space early. Registration forms will be mailed out in July.Be sure to mark you calendar and plan on participating in this dynamic event. ENTREPENEUR’S DAY PRESENTED BY GREATER BINGHAMTON SCORE CHAPTER 217, IEEE, AND ASQ
The Binghamton Chapter of SCORE along with the Binghamton Chapters of IEEE and ASQ are sponsoring a seminar entitled Entrepreneurship, Targeting Innovative Startups and Existing Businesses. This seminar is intended for professionals who would like to change careers, go into business for themselves and existing businesses. This daylong seminar will start at 9:30 AM and end at 4:30 PM on Saturday, July 24, 2010. The seminar will be presented at the Broome County Library in the Decker room. Fees include lunch.
The seminar will cover business related topics such as, The Economic Environment in Broome County What it Takes to Start a New Business Financing Your Business The Law Relative to Small Business Why You Need Insurance Taking Charge of Your Career/Entrepreneurship in Today’s Environment Buying a Franchise So You Want to Be a Consultant Patents and Intellectual Property Business Planning
The above materials will be presented by members of SCORE, IEEE and the local business community. These knowledgeable presenters will provide a realistic view of career change and entrepreneurship as a career.

Small Business Training Program
The Small Business Development Center at Binghamton University is sponsoring a 20-hour small business training program that starts on September 8th and takes place on three (3) consecutive Wednesdays. All three sessions are included in the price of $60. An SBDC Certificate of Completion will be awarded at the end of the 3 sessions. Reservations are required as space is limited.
